Terms of Service

1. Description of the Service

Origo provides automated document screening on a software-as-a-service basis at origo.superskript.io: text-similarity analysis against reference material available to your account, an advisory AI-writing likelihood signal, highlighted similarity reports, and plagiarism-check certificates.

2. User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Individual accounts are for one person; institutional accounts are for the licensed institution and its authorised users. We may suspend accounts that breach these Terms.

3. User Content and License

You retain all rights to the documents you upload. You grant us only the limited, non-exclusive licence necessary to process your documents and display the results to you. Documents you add to your reference corpus remain in your account's isolated workspace. You may delete your documents and reports at any time from within the Service.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to screen only documents you have the right to process, and not to use the Service to infringe any person's rights; to harass, defame, or harm any person; to probe, breach, or overload the Service or its security; or to resell or sublicense access without our written agreement.

5. Fees, Payment, and Credits

Individual plans are metered in page credits (1 page = 250 words; each screening deducts the document's page count, minimum one page). Credits are added on successful payment and do not expire while your account remains active. Institutional plans are billed as agreed in the applicable order. All prices are exclusive of GST, which is charged additionally at the prevailing rate. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we do not store your card, UPI, or banking details. All purchases are final, as set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation and refunds are governed by our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary: every new account receives free evaluation credits; accordingly, purchases are final and non-refundable, except where refunds are required by applicable law (such as unauthorised or duplicate charges, or complete failure to deliver purchased credits).

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, engine, design, report and certificate formats, and the Superskript and Origo names and marks, is owned by Lush Transnational (OPC) Private Limited. These Terms grant you a right to use the Service, not any rights in it. Reports and certificates generated for you may be used freely for your academic, editorial, or institutional purposes.

8. Nature of Results — Important

Similarity scores reflect matching against the reference material available to your account at the time of screening; they are not a warranty that a document is or is not plagiarised. The AI-writing likelihood score is a statistical, advisory signal only; it is not proof of authorship and must not be used as the sole basis for any academic, disciplinary, employment, or legal decision. Certificates record the screening performed and its stated scope; interpretation and any resulting decision remain the responsibility of the user or institution.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the six months preceding the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for decisions taken by you or any third party on the basis of screening results.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses arising from documents you upload without the right to process them, or from your breach of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your data. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. Sections 7 to 10 survive termination.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

13. General Provisions

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund and Cancellation Policy, are the entire agreement between us regarding the Service. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified on this page with a revised date. Notices to us: write@superskript.io.
